Help Out On The Farm

A person wearing a navy beanie, glasses, and a black Columbia jacket holds a small black and brown goat kid inside a pen with hay and other goats nearby.

Check in periodically to keep up to date on opportunities to help on the farm. Each opportunity to help holds a new learning experience. From learning about goat health checks to trimming willow for craft projects. Or going for a walk with the goats to help with halter training. This page may evolve into a way to invite people to potlucks and gatherings. Keep in mind that I work other off-farm jobs and may not always be available.

Look for a ***next to opportunities that may be time-sensitive.

Cutting Willow

Consider coming over to help me cut willow. Willow can be used for different weaving and craft projects. I hope to offer a willow weaving class in the future. If you want to help trim willow and talk about future classes, contact me via email to set a time to visit. om

Fiber Friends

Every early spring, I collect cashmere from my SCI goat herd by brushing it from their outer guard hairs. Let me know if you ever want to help.

Secondly, picking guard hairs from the collected cashmere is another tedious job. But it’s an activity that can be done while being social or taking a quiet time for yourself. Let me know if you ever want to help clean cashmere.

Growing Community Around Common Goals

Farmsteading involves learning new skills, meeting new people, and working together. Finding common ground and tending those relationships will bloom into something beautiful and fruitful. If you are interested in not only supporting but also being part of the EB Ranch Farmstead, reach out to me with collaborative ideas. Ranging from teaching basic goat care to establishing regular, in-person farmstead-related gatherings. Always with a focus on inclusion, embracing diversity in a safe space, and sharing knowledge.

My punk rock roots thrive to work together on projects. Let’s get our DIY pants dirty and dig into something fun.
