Bring The San Clemente Goats To Your Event
Winter Holiday Yule Goats
My Norwegian heritage shines through the San Clemente Island goats by offering Yule Goat Holiday opportunities. Yule Goat tradition comes from pre-Christian Pagan celebrations with striking iconography and variations. Often taking form in straw Yule Goats. The exact origins are not known, but story and function of the Yule Goats has changed over the years. The Yule Goat is now shown as a bringer of gifts with a Santa Clause like figure guiding the present-laden goats from house to house.
Having a Yule Goat at an event can present fun photo opportunities and a unique offering any time of year outside of the winter season. Some weather may be too cold to bring goats to and may need to be cancelled or postponed. So be thoughtful of that when booking an event.
Education About Critically Endangered Livestock
Many people don’t realize that livestock and poultry breeds go extinct, just like wild animals. Hundreds of livestock breeds have gone extinct over the years, and that means the diversity they may have held is also gone. Wiping out diversity means we are putting ourselves at risk for just one disease to eradicate an entire livestock breed, but some can stay resistant against certain diseases or health issues. We can see this happen historically with the Potato Famine. Some localized breeds may also have better resistance to pests and parasites.
Saving and growing endangered livestock shouldn’t be all about doom and gloom either. These animals hold valuable and rich stories and history that shouldn’t be forgotten. Plus years of enjoyment for future breeders and farmers.

Are You Interested?
If you are interested in having these goats at an event, please fill out the form to the right. I offer both fun and casual in-person goat events, as well as educational events that include short presentations and Q&As.
These offerings are free within a 60-mile radius of zip code 54763. Although donations are appreciated, a designated area will be set up to receive donations from participants. We can discuss how to cover gas costs if you are beyond that 60-mile radius.
Educational presentations often last an hour and include a Q&A. Yule Goat showings should last no longer than four hours.
The goats I bring to events are socialized, but they can become fatigued from too much socialization. I do practice some biosecurity measures and will try to redirect people to keep their hands away from the goat’s mouths. Goats do like chest rubs and butt scratches!
