Delete-A-Thon
I have spent many hours and a handful of months minimizing my social media footprint. The struggle with still promoting and sharing what happens at the farmstead is real. Recently spent a few hours deleting old business photos, so many artistic pictures of soap, and curated videos. I didn’t cry, but it was certainly an emotional rollercoaster that added to my already tired mind. Though I used this time of cleaning and change to think about where I want my farm-related focus to be. And that led me to finishing a few projects on my website, and making small changes to my newsletter template. And I even finally changed the font on the EB Ranch Farmstead logo.
Navigating the digital world is tricky to say the least. I’m certainly not a Luddite, but I do recognize and have a better understanding of the pitfalls that being “online” all the time can create. We often look for scapegoats to blame for our feelings of uncertainty and fear. I don’t want to use the internet as a scapegoat, but rather educate myself and be better about using it. Algarithims and AI, oh my!
So, you get to choose how you want to use the internet. I have said it before, and I will say it again. Consider bookmarking websites on your computer and visiting them often. Sign up for newsletters, and find other ways outside of social media to support and engage with people.
Thank you for your support!
